Inland Empire Jazz Festival Becomes a Reality
Ontario, California
The Inland Empire, comprised of Riverside and San Bernardino counties, finally has a world-class event that will augment its already burgeoning esteem as the new place to live and to play.
A group of entrepreneurs has won approval by the County of San Bernardino to utilize the Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park for the Inland Empire Jazz Festival to be held August 24-26, 2007. The event will boast a range of jazz styles including New Orleans, Dixieland, Bebop, Mainstream, Jazz Fusion, Free Funk and more.
“There will be two stages of live music plus roving bands throughout the park,” says Annetta Bryant, executive director of Global Destiny Events (GDE). “Our company is proud to have been chosen by Operation R.E.A.P.P. to develop this event as a fundraiser and to bring awareness to the education challenges of our youth, who will be well represented during this event.”
Operation R.E.A.P.P. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 1997 by Queen McGlone. The organization is dedicated to providing educational support to underprivileged and at-risk youth, grades K-12.
“The I.E. Jazz Festival is slated to be very festive with headline entertainers, lots of music, lights, a variety of foods (including Cajun and Southern delights), a vintage car show, an art walk by the lake, and Mardi Gras style hosts and hostesses to see to the comfort of the guests,” says Sean Jones, a member of the planning committee.
The Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park is located just minutes from the Ontario Airport, and 45-60 minutes for downtown Los Angeles and Orange County. The facility has a fishing lake, a children’s play area, and plenty of family activities that enhance the experience of relaxation, fun and music.
